A Note from Lisa Sniderman

“I was missing live theatre… and had this vision of bringing live theatre to those like me…”

I am Lisa Sniderman, an artist and playwright. For 18 years, I’ve lived with rare chronic illness. I‘ve been home for years, missing live theater, and had this vision of bringing live, accessible, immersive theatrical experiences to those like me who can’t attend through hybrid stage performances, which sparked me to write a musical: VitaNova. I based one of my protagonists, Lis, on my own journey navigating illness.

Ask yourself: what makes a live theatre experience? I’m driven to find ways to take the spectacle of live theatre — the visuals, the audio, even the feel of being in community with a live audience — and create comparable, engaging experiences for a virtual audience.
